GEORGE MATTINGLY

Whaling Ship

This ship came entirely from my imagination. It's also one of my larger paintings, which gave me room to work with the vessel, open water, and dramatic sky.
I could imagine my own scene from an earlier age of sailing, with a great ship making its way across uncertain seas.
