I painted this schooner at anchor as the last of the sun burned down behind the tree line. The sky goes from violet to deep orange, and the water catches every bit of it in long, rippling streaks.
Evenings like this in Boothbay are why I keep going back. The boat sits perfectly still while the light does all the moving.
Size: 12x16 inches, framed.
